List of creatures with the most notable and stunning eyes.

The eyes is one of the most important sense of organs. It is through the eyes that one sees the beauty of nature, Thus, the famous saying - "beauty is on the eye of the beholder".

Atlantic Giant Squid

Giant Squid, specifically the Atlantic Giant Squid is believed to possess the largest eyes of all creatures in the world. The size of its eye is over 30 centimeters or 1 ft in diameter. It is thought the Giant Squid cannot see in color, but they can probably discern small differences in tone, which is important in the low light conditions of the deep ocean.

The creature with the largest eyes in the animal kingdom in proportion to its size is the Vampire Squid. The limpid and globular eyes are 2.5 cm or 1 inch in diameter. This creature has a maximum 30 cm or 1 ft in total body length.

Frogs

Many species of frogs have amazingly large and stunning eyes.

The Litoria chloris has golden eyes at the centre, which change to red towards the edge of the eye. The intensity of the eye color is variable between frogs.

A Dragonfly is characterized by multifaceted eyes. A compound eye may consist of thousands of individual photoreception units. Telescope Octopus

Creatures with tubular eyes appear to be wearing exaggerated goggles. Tubular eyes are aimed in the same direction (binocular vision) and may be directed straight ahead or directly upward.

This deep sea creature commonly called Telescope Octopus (Amphitretus pelagicus) is found in the Indo-Pacific tropical regions. It is transparent, almost colorless and has 8 arms. It is the only octopus to have tubular eyes, hence its common name.

Owls have large forward-facing eyes. Although owls have binocular vision, their large eyes are fixed in their sockets, as with other birds, and they must turn their entire head to change views.
