Wanna jumpstart your business? Designing a good flyer will keep your phones ringing. Here's how to design a flyer that does the job.

Did you know that a well designed flyer is one of the most cost effective marketing tools you have in your marketing arsenal? If you know the right techniques, you can design your flyer yourself and reproduce it for pennies per sheet. You'll wander why you ever spent so much money on expensive advertising when you see the results a well done flyer can generate! Here's how to design a flyer that brings in the business:

1. Use colored or textured paper to make your flyer stand out from the crowd.

Your art or craft supply store should have a variety of interesting papers in the scrapbooking section you can use to print out your flyer on your computer. Look for paper that will stand out from the surrounding flyers yet still convey a note of professionalism. No bright neon colors! Something suble, but eye catching, would be more effective.

2. Design your flyer with the reader in mind.

Emphasize benefits not features. No one wants to hear the long drawn out story of how your company came into being or dry statistics about your products. They want to know how your product is going to make them better or make their life easier. Give them this information and they'll want to know more.

3. Design with lots of blank space between sentences.

Blank space between sentences is restful on the eyes. You want your potential customer to read and become excited about what your product has to offer them. Make it easy on their eyes and they'll keep reading.

4. Include an eyecatching photo.

Nothing attracts the eye quite like a photo. Be sure to include a large, colorful photo somewhere in the top one third of your flyer. If you're promoting a product , a flattering photo of your product would be appropriate. If it's a service you're promoting, you may want to include your own photo. This adds a personalized touch to your ad.

5. Make it easy for your potential customer to contact you.

Make your contact information obvious. Include your phone number , store address, as well as your email address prominently on the flyer. Since most people won't have a pen handy to write down your information, you might want to include pull off tabs with your contact information along the lower edge. After all, what good is your flyer if no one knows how to reach you?

6. Give them an incentive to contact you immediately.

Let your reader know if they call within the next 2 days, they'll receive a discount or bonus. This is a quick and effective way to get potential customers to contact you quickly. Very few other businesses take full advantage of this little known technique.

7. Get your newly designed flyer into the hands of as many people as possible.

Pin your flyer onto every bulletin board you can find. Place them on car windshields, and hand them out on busy street corners. When you design and print flyers on your home computer, you can afford to be generous with them.

Now that you know the secret of designing a great flyer, why not use it to boost your business?: It's a great way to get new customers without breaking the bank. Why not get started today?
