How to dye hair with tea. Tea is just not full of antioxidants that help improve the general health of the body, it also acts as a dye and has been used in many households to bring out the highlights in coloured hair, it also manages to cover greys, this is a very inexpensive way to cover the greys as colour usually costs upto $10. Here are a few steps to how to dye hair with tea.

Boil Tea

Boil half a litre of water and add 7 tea bags into the water, make sure the water boils completely so that the colour goes very dark. Once bioled mix the tea bags until no more liqour can be extracted, squeeze the last drops out of the teabags and then leave the tea to simmer down until the temperature is ok to apply on the hair. Do not apply the tea when it is boiling as this will damage the hair severely.

Prepare the Hair

Rinse the hair with warm water to prepare for the dye, make sure your hair is wet from root to tip. Once completely wet start immersing the hair in the water and in a bowl and leave it imersed for at least 15 minutes, this may be uncomfortable but the results will speak for them selves, after the immersion rinse the hair with the tea 15 times with a mug and make sure the tea reaches every strand of hair to ensure the dye is even.

Soaking

Leave the hair with the soaked tea for at least half and hour so that the tea can be absorbed by the hair, dont leave it too long as the tea smell may start to infiltrate the scalp and ridding the smell may take longer, I have found that half an hour is sufficient. Once the soaking period is over start to rinse the hair gently with warm water until all the tea has been removed.

The Results

Once you dry the hair you will notice the condition of the hair is more sleek and stronger due to the antioxidant properties of tea, all the grey hairs will be covered with a strong black dye and the highlights of the hair will be more pronounced, overall this is a great way to save money and care for the hair taking a natural holistic approach.
