      The Bugatti Veyron EB 16.4  was introduced in 2005 as the fastest production car in the world. It is currently the fastest accelerating and decelerating production car in the world, with a 0 - 100 - 0 km/h (0- 62.14 mph -0) time of 8.6 seconds and, priced at 1.5 million U.S. dollars (1.1 million euro), it is also one of the most expensive cars in the world. Powered by a 736-kilowatt (987 horse power) W16 engine, it can accelerate up to 253.81 mph (408.47 km/h). This engine consists of two sets of eight cylinders which is key to performance. The transmission holds a dual-clutch Direct-Shift Gearbox computer-controlled manual gearbox with seven gear ratios, with red paddles behind the steering wheel and a shift time of less than 150 milliseconds. The Veyron can be driven as a full automatic transmission or  full-time four-wheel drive, utilising the Haldex Traction system. It uses special Michelin run-flat tires, designed specifically for the Veyron to accommodate its top speed, which reportedly cost $25,000 US per set.
