Holocaust Museum Houston
This is a review on a human interest piece concerning the Houston Holocaust Museum.
Holocaust Museum Houston serves as a memorial of innocent victims of Nazi hatred, and is dedicated to educating people about the dangers of intolerance and prejudice in our society today. It's the first institution o fits kind in the southwest.
The main exhibit..."Bearing Witness: A Community Remembers," features various photographs, artifacts, and films documenting life before, during and after the Holocaust.
They have two shows daily in their "in-house" theater. Which also features "first-hand" accounts of our very own Houston-area survivors.
The museum also has a bookstore, if you would like to take some of the history home with you.
Admission is free.
However, this museum is not for the fainthearted. It will tug at your emotions like nothing else you have ever experienced. It will also instill a new appreciation for the freedom we have all been blessed to enjoy.
If you ever want a reason to remind yourself how great your life is... Take some time to visit this museum. It will put everything into perspective and it will be a reminder of what little you have to complain about.
It's hard to imagine that such torture and horror could ever be endured by a human race. Not only men and women, but even children had to look into the eyes of inhumane death... Yet...they did it with such grace, humbleness and integrity. I stand in awe and honor all those who suffered through...both during and after...those terrible days of Holocaust!
* Their courage...
* Their bravery...
* Their stamina...
* Their endurance...
* Their faith...
* Their commitment...
Shall forever live on throughout the generations...
