A Free Half Day Excursion in Cyprus
A free excursion that is run by a company called PAL Promotions. This is a free half day out that takes tourists to a health therapeutic showroom showing marino lambs wool produce and aloe vera products, then it takes guests onto a destination within the country they are on holiday in.
How it Works
PAL Promotion's free excursion is most popular in Spain and Tenerife, but has now started in many other countries all around the world.
What the Tour Involves
The coach tour by PAL Promotions is only half a day. PAL have teamed up with Thomson, First Choice, Thomas Cook Holidays, Mercury Direct and Air Tours group. Tourists can book this trip through their Holiday Representative via their Welcome Meetings or if they see a PAL Representative at their welcome meeting or sometimes they are seated in the hotel reception area either in the mornings or evenings.
The coach picks up outside hotels and everyone is taken to a showroom where Health Therapeutic products, such as, Orthopedic mattresses and Marino wool blankets are shown, along with pillows and other brilliant health desirable products that can be bought, which in my opinion, are incredibly good value for money and they do work. Refreshments are served and a glass of champagne if you desire it. The speaker showed and explains how therapeutic their products can be. There is no hard selling here or any exchange of money or credit card transactions if anything is wished to be purchased, except if you want to buy the smaller products. If sets wish to be bought, then all you do is fill out a form and everything is sent to your home directly from Majorca where the Head Office is situated and that is only if you want to order the bigger products like the mattress, pillows and blanket. Even when tourists receive them they have seven days to consider whether they are happy with them or not. After that the customer sends payment to Majorca. The products are a life time guarantee too. In fact, there were many customers there that had already bought sets and were saying how brilliant they were. Some said the products had been owned by themselves for five years and some for ten years or some owned even longer and were still in top condition after all those years. Customers were happy with them and said that they would vouch for these products at all times.
Towards the end, there is a raffle and some beautiful aloe vera creams are presented. These are good value for money too. A set of two creams can be bought for ten euros in Cyprus and the tourists on this trip were queuing up to buy them. There are other aloe vera products here too, which are equally just as unique.
After the hour in the showroom, I got back onto the coach to be taken to the destination that I had chosen to go to, which there are a few to chose from whilst in Cyprus. The new places now added are a Limassol trip and a trip to Latchi Harbour and other trips, such as a tour to the Sodap Winery, Phiti Weaving Village and a working Monastery called Ayios Neophytos (dating back to 12th century). Of course, tour destinations can sometimes change in the summer taking tourists to Aphrodite Rock and a Pottery Demonstration or Ayios Georgios village. The tour that I took was to Phiti Weaving Village (read my article on Associated Content about this village written not long ago). I was able to sit back and enjoy a guided tour through picturesque countryside. Phiti is a small traditional village, where there is a museum on weaving and the history of this historical village that is situated in the hills. The trip lasts between 9am to 2pm or an afternoon from 11 am to 3.30pm (for the wine tasting trip). You are taken directly back to your hotel in time for lunch or tea time or if you are on an all inclusive board or on full board for your meals, then you can ask your hotel reception if a packed lunch can be supplied for you, because you are going out on a trip for that day.
The Sights We Saw
I thought the day was very enjoyable. The coach ride from the showroom was a spectacular guided tour up into the hills passing villages Mesogi, Tsada, Stroumbi and finally arriving in Phiti. As it was February, we got to see snow filled mountains of Troodos in the distance. On the way back from our wine tasting, the coach takes a different route giving people the opportunity to see more sights, such as going through the quaint village of Peyia. From here we were shown and told where places like Coral Bay was and the Tomb of Kings.
What Products Are On Offer?
This half day excursion is not just for tourists, but can benefit people who live here too. They are perfect for the health and help to alienate any aches and pains that people may suffer from, such as arthritis or a bad back. If you suffer from Asthma they can aid in better sleeping at night. Prices for wool blankets and orthopedic mattresses are cheaper at showroom prices around the world other than buying them from stores in the United Kingdom. There are smaller items, such as slippers, neck pillows, neck collars, back warmers and seat pads to be bought here and they are at the best prices, along with being fantastic products that really to aid health problems.
Booking The Trip
This free morning or afternoon outing is becoming very popular here in Paphos. If you wish to take part then book with a Thomson, Thomas Cook, First Choice or Mercury Direct Representative at the hotel you are staying at whilst on holiday in Paphos, Cyprus. If you live here, then just go to the nearest hotel and either look for one of these holiday Representatives or even a PAL Representative (they are in uniform) to ask for details for this trip.
Recommendation
Overall, Thomson, Thomas Cook, First Choice, Air tours group and Mercury Direct recommends this trip to anyone, as it is free and you are able to see more of Cyprus or where ever you are on holiday. Just one of these Tour Operators if the PAL free excursion operates where ever you are on holiday. Even if you live here, it is still a good way to get to see what is on offer. The whole family can go too!
PAL Promotions have their own Representatives that go to the Welcome Meetings and all the hotels in Paphos, Limassol and now just recently Larnaca and Protaras. They have five trips going per week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Each day is a different destination, so if you are there for two weeks you can ask to do a second trip if you wish and that way you can visit more of the Island. Also, during winter months and if you are on holiday in Paphos, Cyprus then it is a good idea to take advantage of the tours that go to Limassol and/or Latchi Harbour, because there is no other way of getting to these places unless you have a car. There are no local buses that go there from Paphos. Of course, you can take a taxi service to visit these areas, but it will cost you a lot of money in return fares. So, in theory, these trips are well worth it and it is a unique free excursion by far. So, if it is available at your destination, then take advantage, because it is an enjoyable trip without having to pay any money for it.
