Surabaya

The seconds largest city in Indonesia, Surabaya plays an integral part in the country's history and development. Surabaya, like the other parts of the Indonesian arhchipelago, has a tropical climate with two seasson rainy (october-april) and dry (may-september). The avearage temperature is between 20-30 degrees celsius (about 75-95 degree fahrenheit). It is sunny in for 70%-80%of the year.

Sunan Ampel Mosque
Ampel mosque is believed to be the oldest in the country, built in 1421. Its founder, Sunan Ampel (otherwise known as Raden Ahmad Rachmatulloh),was one of nine figures who played a leading role in spreading islam acress java.
