It's the thought that counts! But even if you want to give a gift, your pocketbook needs to be full enough to share the spirit. Here are some great gift ideas

Every year during Christmas we may find ourselves wondering: how can we be generous during the Holiday season yet keep the money in our pockets. It's the thought that counts! But even if you want to give a gift, your pocketbook needs to be full enough to share the spirit. Here are some great gift ideas

Candles are a great choice for those folks who are hard to buy for. They can be found individually (for a personal flare) or in sets. Sometimes the best deal for candles and candle collections can be found at the local dollar store.

Consider homemade photo albums. Full of personal mementos that only you could be able to share with your gift receiver. The cover as well as several pages inside can be made up to better share your personal memories with others.

Homemade cookies are another great gift. If you can't do cookies, popcorn balls, fudge and other deserts are great choices. Unless your gift receiver is extremely picky, this is a wonderful choice.  Don't forget when you send or give food, you need to be keen to the gift receivers allergies.

Box of chocolates is another food item that you can purchase that can be low cost and high appreciation.  Chocolate can make any girl (or boy) smile by just a collection of pieces.

A handwritten note of appreciation sounds simple, but it is the most genuine gift you can give someone. Your thoughts and kindness directed to someone you greatly appreciate.  This is a memory that will be put away in a special place and brought out again and again when times are tough.

Plants are another wonderful, inexpensive gift that can be found at most stores. From a cactus to a fern, the gift receiver can remember you for months to come when they water their new friend. Make sure the gift receiver has a green thumb or at least time to water the plant.
