Have you ever wished you could fly like super heroes (and heroines) do? With the proper equipment you can do it in three easy steps.

Everybody would like to be able to zoom through the air like a super hero. Who hasn’t watched a movie or television show and felt the urge to just take off?

In order to fly like a super hero, you will have to practice. Here’s how to do it in three easy steps.

1. Take off: In order to fly like a super hero, you have to launch properly. Stand with your feet about 12 inches apart. Bend your knees slightly. Now jump! Lift off!

Arm position: You can position your arms in three acceptable ways for take-off.

  • Two Arms – many super heroes favor the classic two-arm method. Raise both hands over your head during launch.
  • One Arm – a growing number of super heroes have adopted the modern one-arm method. Raise either your right or left arm during take-off.
  • No Arms – only the most confident super heroes dare to lead with their head.

2. Landing: Once you’re in the air, you also must learn to come back to earth. You can practice this right after you practice launching. With your feet approximately 12 inches apart, lower them to the ground. A perfect landing!

Arms – There are two arm positions that are favored. These positions provide comfort for the person you are rescuing, while being menacing to the perpetrator.

  • Arms crossed over chest
  • Hands on hips

Don’t forget to assume a confident facial expression. Smile benignly at the victim, frown disapprovingly at the miscreant.

3. Flight: Now that you have practiced take off and landing for a few weeks, you’re ready to fly. Attach your magic cape to your shoulders securely. You really wouldn’t want the cape to come off during your flight, even if you’re very good at landing. With the cape securely attached, take off! You’re flying!

It is strongly recommended that you use either the one-arm or two-arm position while flying in order to avoid collisions and head injuries. The sky is not empty.

Tips:

  • If you don’t happen to have access to a magic cape, you can use your super hero flight ability instead.
  • Until you possess a magic cape, or super abilities, just practice take off and landing.
  • Have fun!

Warning: Do not attempt take-off or landing near the edge of a cliff or at the top of a tall building unless your magic cape is securely attached.
