Project Wonderful and Blogs

As part of my on going experimentation into Internet Making Money ventures I have come across one very exciting project.

It is called Project Wonderful. This is a dot com link, not an affiliate link.

And wonderful it is. When monetising a blog or website you often see banner advertising. I personally click on banners as these I find have a lot of pulling power especially if the graphics are good.

My site has a fair bit of content and not to many images. So to dress it up a little I decided to go with Banner Advertising. Project Wonderful has been the best medium for me to achieve this.

What is Project Wonderful

Back in the old days and still not to far away there is a very active group of Comic websites. These sites have some of the most talented persons on the internet.

The Comic Website owners have built sites around comics and all share a deep and long lasting passion.

It came to a point in time that these sites were becoming very popular and thus many hover around a Page Rank of 8 or more. These sites are not quick thrown up sites to get advertisement clicks, no they are genuine sites, where the webmasters sole aim is to get eyeballs on their comics.

In keeping with the comic mind, Project Wonderful was born. Quite an apt description I think when you consider the comic world mentality. I mean that in a sincere way, these webmasters and followers are unique in their own way as to their talents and concepts.

Back to Project Wonderful. Ok - we have a group of webmasters who live a passion and want their work to be seen. Project Wonderful allows these webmasters to auction ad space on their websites. The ad space is in the form of 125 x 125 banner advertising.

This allows the webmasters to bid to have their 125 banner on a highly trafficed and page rank site.

What About Us Bloggers

Well the good thing to come out of Project Wonderful was that not only did the comic webmasters community have an avenue to generate an income and increase traffic to their sites, the blogging world was allowed access.

Bloggers soon realised that to have their banner on a PR8 plus website was something of a Holy Grail in both link terms and traffic generation.

This means that we bloggers can now join this elite group and have our blogs advertising banner advertisements from Project Wonderful.

This is one very sound way to monetise our blogs as I will now describe.....

Show Me The Money

What would you think about placing advertisements on your site and when you reach a $10.00, ten dollar, threshold that you get paid straight away into your PayPal account.

Not when you make $100.00, not paid 15 days after the end of the following month, not paid by snail mail cheque, but paid directly into your PayPal account.

How Does The Banner Look

When you make your ad space widget you can change the clours just as you do with any other ad spot on your blog.

This particular ad spot that I made at PW is 2 (two) banner adverts but you can have one or more.

Each advertiser holds one spot, with one on top, then the second advertiser holds the bottom spot of a two spot advertisement.

The banner on top is the banner owner that pays the most.

Banner Setup - Now What

This is the good part.

Let's recap first. We sign up at Project Wonderful and get a confirmation e-mail.

We set up our site and that gets approved. Obviously, porn sites are out. We then log into our members area and set up our advertisement block, such as colour of background, text, borders and amount of banners we want, 1 - 8.

I set up two banners spots just to check first as the screenshot above shows. I will very soon be increasing this to four banner spots, and I suggest you do the same.

Now we set it up and its in the system, the Project Wonderful system. We then wait until we start getting bids. Here's a screenshot after three hours of me setting up my advertisement block.

The Auction Has Begun

What has happened here is other advertisers have bid to have their banner shown on my site.

Now remember, its three hours old in the system. That means very limited stats for advertisers to see. So they have their banner on my site for free until someone comes along and out bids them.

Can you see the one cent bid. That's how much they have paid to have my site advertise their banner with NO STATS.

I have a special surprise for you in a further module, so don't skip ahead, I promise you, it will blow you away, so stay with me.

What happens next is other advertisers come along and bid to have me advertise their site. After one day, I have two bids, successful bids, I have only two slots remember, each paying 0.01 and 0.02 cents to be there.

More Bids Are Arriving

There are more bididng on my site to have their advertisements in my banner section.

My stats page is now starting to show under one hundred visitors a day now and as each day passes the stats will go up to the level of one thousand unique visitors plus a day.

When that happens, 0.02 cents will not cut the grade. From looking at other sites with decent traffic it is not unusual to see bids in the dollars, some in tens of dollars.

Is It Safe

Yes. It is safe.

Why - because you have full control over who advertises on your site. That is, if you receive a bid and you do not like the graphic on the banner or the site is inappropriate then all you have to do is - one delete the bid - and - two block the bidder.

The advertising module on your site is self updating and you control everything from your members area. You can auto approve, as I did, your bids or manually approve your bids. An email is sent to you advising you that you have received a new bid.

OK Terry You Always Have A Treat

That's true. I always have either a super trick or a super treat.

In this case it is a SUPER TREAT.

You know when I said advertisers bid on your site for cents then maybe dollars for your ad banner spots?

Well its PER DAY, thats right, per day. If someone bids $1.00 then you will be paid that for each and every day their advertisement is shown in your banner section.

Thats my treat. Imagine five banner spots filled with $1.00 per day banner ads that will amount to $5.00 per day. Hows that.

When you have $10.00 in your account you request a PayPal payment. The money is yours more or less straight away.

$1.00 per day, times 30 days in a month equals $30.00. One to eight banner spots all filled ranging from 0.00 to any amount bid, such as $10.00, is paid per day.

So back to the purpose of this Hub, is Project Wonderful, wonderful, yes I believe it is. Simple, straight forward, works on any blog platform, is active, it runs by itself and pays by PayPal.

Hooray for PW and hooray to this hub.

It just might, if you implement this, just might make you a few Blog Dollars and blog dollars is real money.
