A question often raised by webmasters and bloggers is how can one add Adsense advertising to their single RSS feeds. First we need to know that an RSS feed is simply a snapshot of each page on your blog, website writing's.

The RSS Feed is simply a page, a source really, that lists your individual pages by title where that title is linked to the url address on the net of that particular page.

Other users on the internet, and they can actually be anyone from anywhere, can include your RSS feed into a reader on their site. What this means is that the data from your RSS feed is added to their site for visitors to click on.

The reason they would do this is to keep their sites content fresh, as each time your RSS feed is updated, say when you add a new page, then their site is also updated with new content.

Search engines love and eat up content and fight each other to list new content on their search engines first. Those search engine bots get really hungry for new content.

Here is a quick How To for adding Adsense to your RSS feeds.

Let's begin...

Now That You Have Your Feed

You now have your very own particular RSS feed. It could be your feed from Blogger, your Wordpress blog or website. In my case I use my RSS feed from my article directories and social bookmarking sites that I use as well.

Now go to FeedBurner.com. Before we do though, let's look at the url. It is actually feedburner.google.com. See the magic word in the url title - Google.

Now sign up or sign in to Feedburner. It is all very self explanatory to do.

Once you have done this you will see in the centre of the page a section that says - Burn a feed right this instant. Type your blog or feed address here:

This is where you add your RSS Feed url. Do this and then press next.

RSS Feed Burned On Feedburner

Sounds good doesn't it. Burn - its as if some catastrophic event has just taken place. Quite melodramatic in my view.

Anyway, we now have our RSS Feed on Feedburner.

You will then come to the following page where your RSS feed result shows. The page has a lot of information such as analytics etc but we're interested in the Monetize tab.

Press that and see what happens next..

Adding Adsense To Your RSS Feed

When you press the monetize tab you will be brought to your Adsense account.

You then go to your Adsense account and navigate to Adsense Set Up then Adsense For Feeds.

At the bottom you will see your FeedBurner RSS feed and a Add tab.

Highlight your FeedBurner RSS Feed and press Add.

You have now added Adsense to your FeedBurner RSS Feed.

The End Result

This is a very simple how to add Adsense to your RSS feeds.

As you go through this though, look at each page you come across and read through it. For instance, in your Adsense Feed setup you will find many options to choose from.

Also, in your FeedBurner setup you will find the RSS feed made by FeedBurner and monetised with Adsense.

Click on that and use that url for your promotions. When you click on the url just make sure your Adsense units are showing and your happy with the colours and positioning.

Submit that feed to RSS Aggregator sites on the net. Just search for "RSS Aggregators" and submit your RSS Feed to build backlinks, promote your RSS Feed, allow that feed to get weight and make some money.
