How to reduce hyperpigmentation after acne. Once you are able to overcome acne you may find that the colour of your skin has changed, this is because of the acne scars that have eventually blended into your skin but have not been completely removed, this may make the skin appear uneven and blotchy, there are many ways to reduce hyperpigmentation, here are 5 steps to how to reduce hyperpigmentation after acne.
STEP 1 - HYDROQUINONE
Hydroquinone is a compund that is used to lighten the skin by removing the hyperpigmentation marks, this is also used to treat vitaligo and was made famous by Michael Jacksons overuse as some sources have pointed out. The Cream works by inhibiting the production of melenin which is responsible for the production of pigment marks, there are risks associated with this medication such as Skin Cancer so make sure you use sparingly and with a low concentration over a short period of time.
STEP 2 - KOJIC ACID
Kojic acid is the natural substitute for Hydroquinoce and does not have any harmful side effects compared to HQ. Kojic acid was developed in China and is derived from Fungii that is usual present in rice, the effects of applying Kojic acid to skin is again the inhibition of Melenin which reduces the formation of Pigment marks, although there are no side effects Kojic acid takes longer to work and is much more expensive than HQ.
STEP 3 - GLUTATHIONE
Glutathione is derived from L-Glutamine, it is a protein that is found in the liver and is particularly beneficial for the Liver, when glutathione is taken in high doses one of the pleasent side effects is that it whitens then skin by reducing the hyperpigmentation marks by inhibiting the production of Melenin, there is no scientific proof that this works however the Pill has been selling on the internet and there are a lot of convincing testimonials that proof its claim.
STEP 4 - FACIAL BLEACHING
Although this does not solve the root problem of hyperpigmentation it serves as a temporary measure, Bleaching the face usually requires the use of Hydrogen Peroxide, this should be done by a Beauty Therapist and home made kits are dangerous, just look at the internet for all the horrofic outcomes of these self help kits. Make sure you use the product sparingly as it is notorious for drying the skin.
STEP 5 - LEMON
If you are looking for a natural cure that is inexpensive, if you are able to apply Lemon juice and then natural Yoghurt to the face everyday over several month your skin will become more whiter as it acts as a natural bleach, it also inhibits Melenin production over the long run albeit to a lesser extent to the other methods discussed above, before you embark on other more drastic solutions the best way to start is with a natural remedy which is harmless in moderation and inexpensive.
