Contests For Christian Romance Writers

1) TOUCHED BY LOVE CONTEST

This contest is for unpublished writers, as well as authors who have not been published in the past three years.

It has three Inspirational Romance Categories: 1) Contemporary (under 75, 000 words) 2) Contemporary (over 75,000 words) and 3) Historical.

The winner (chosen from the three First place category winners) receives a critique of their entry by an editor and money towards a writing related expense. The other two First place category winners will also receive money towards a writing related expense. Second and third place winners will receive smaller amounts of money towards writing related expenses.

2) THE GENESIS

This is the ACFW (American Christian Fiction Writers) contest for unpublished Christian writers. Membership in the ACFW is required for those who enter the contest.

The contest has several different genre categories to choose from. The writer submits 15 pages of their novel for the judges (professional agents and editors and authors) to read and critique.

Finalists will be chosen for each category. The Category winners will have the opportunity to meet with an editor or agent at the ACFW National Conference.

3) GOLDEN HEART AWARDS

This contest offers ten different categories including an Inspirational Romance category for Christian authors.

Entries are judged by romance publishing house editors. Although publishing contracts and meetings with agents/editors are not part of the reward, the contest website claims that Golden Heart winners have sold manuscripts as a result of the contest experience.

The Category winners are given a gold, heart-shaped necklace as a prize.
