When was the last time you were satisfied with the results you got from an article you posted? Are you really satisfied with the return you get from your writing and posting efforts?

Article Marketing Explained

You spend time writing an article that you believe people will read, then you submit it to an article site, Then the article site owner gets, revenue from the ads he has placed on your articles page, and he gets another back-link.

Here I will discuss several ways where you can benefit from your article marketing efforts and not worry or have any concern your making the article directory owner money.

First, lets discuss why we market using articles. The reason we do this is mainly and foremostly to get traffic to our pages and sites. Thats a given, we need that.

Secondly, its is a quick way to get a solid backlink to our site and pages so the search engines will find the site and then hopefully index the site, in time. This is a lot quicker than submitting your url to a search engine.

Thirdly, we are building viral backlinks to our site that positions it neatly within a search engine, hopefully nearer the top.

Fourthly, and most importantly, an ongoing article program will keep our site firmly planted on the top of a search engine for a long time to come.

Fifthly (is that a word?), is to generate visitors to our pages who will read our content and hopefully click on an advertisement to which we will make money.

How To Do This

As a long time experience article marketer I can give you some gems of advice from what I have found to work.

This is part of my system.

I keyword a targeted category and then build a mini network against that one keyword. Now the keyword is obviously made up of a phrase containing up to four identifiers, such as "New Footwear For Women". The long tail keyword here is new footwear women. Possibly just footwear women or foot wear women but I think you get the point.

On my site I have that as my heading and I write a page of good meaningful content. Then I forget all about that content and write an article titled exactly the same as my page phrase or url and try to write something equally as meaningful, but less than 500 words.

In the author bio box I write something like "come and visit my site at keyword phrase with the url embedded and also a url of my site.

Now as you can see we have an embedded text link that search engines love and also if someone scrapes the pages and reproduces it on their site, we have our url as the link in the article. When someone copies and pastes from article directories they do not always copy the code with the embedded link, thats why we have our url in there.

Submit Your Article

Submitting your article can be done in a number of ways but first let's talk about duplicate content.

I have found that with my mini network sites I take the one article and post it to each of them. I submit the article to many article directories and my blogs etc. This is what I do with every article I write and I have found in the Google search engine that each site was indexed, and near the top on page 1, so I do not believe duplicate content is a major factor. It is if its on your own site, but never do that.

Now also I want to say this up front. Just because these sites came up on page 1 they rarely stay there without a bit of work. You see, most new sites get page 1 ranking for a short time as there classed as new content. Then linking and other factors come in and they drop off to lower pages.

Having said that, you need to ask yourself a question. What is my goal? My goal is to get traffic. I do not rely on search engine traffic because as I have just described, my pages will not stay Number 1 for long so I need a strategy.

I really follow what my sites are doing, you probably do to. I look at my earnings and traffic counters. My sites only ever receive forty, thats 40, per cent of the traffic from search engines.

Sixty per cent of my traffic comes from other places and one of those places and possibly the best is an article directory. Article directory traffic is targeted traffic, they have already read what I have written and they want more. They click my bio box to come to my site so they have already proven that they do not mind clicking on a link. Thats targeted traffic, interested and not afraid to click.

Where and How to Submit Your Articles

Everywhere. Thats right, submit your article everywhere you can. Targeted article marketing to the appropriate article directory. Do not submit an article on dogs to an SEO directory or cooking article directory as no one will read it.

I use Article Submission Software sold for $6.99 from here. Its not spam but a submission tool. The software is like a mini browser where you load in your article and author details. You then select some or all of the directories pressing run and inside the mini browser it opens each article directory for you. The software fills in the blank spaces, you check it, choose a category, press submit and move onto the next article driectory.

I can do this to many article directories in about twenty minutes and if I did it manually, well hours. I just change the link text around so I have different text links that will not all be the same.

To manually submit your articles its the usual suspects, Ezines Searchwarp Buzzle etc. Google search article directories will bring back 8 million results so you can really find a few there.

Putting it all Together

We build a page with our targeted keyword phrase. Social bookmarking that page will get it noticed and draw traffic from the likes of Digg and Stumble Upon that will be good for our statistic counter.

We write an article and submit the article to many directories just changing the text link around so they are not all the same. We will now get targeted article directory reader/visitor traffic to our sites through clicking links in our bio box.

Our articles get reproduced on other websites giving us a one way backlink and traffic from their site.

Whats left? Rinse and repeat. Do it again and a again.

The best I have had to my wordpress blog from one article in one day was seventy five (75) unique visitors. Those visitors came from Ezinearticles.com.

Now I write at least ten articles over a four week period as I have described here so you can imagine the traffic my article submissions bring to my one targeted page on my site. I just change the order of my keyword around in the title.

So what we now have is many articles are now out there on the web in article directories and reproduced on other websites. Thats a lot of backlinks to my site and as you can imagine the site ranks highly on Google first page for a variety of keywords.

When you find a good money making page on your site then target that page with more articles and try to build up your other pages using the same method.

Remember, rinse and repeat, build pages and build links. Thats the success formula and do not give up. When your articles get page rank in time so will your site.

One article per week for one page on your site mixed up over the next weeks with two maybe three articles in one of those weeks pointing at that page will bring you traffic.

Traffic = clicks = $$.
