Indoor allergies occur due to the body’s rejection of a foreign substance that is floating in the air. This rejection causes sneezing, watery eyes, itching, and wheezing in your lungs. The four biggest airborne culprits are dust, pollen, pet dander, and mold. The following contains a few tips on how to prevent and treat indoor allergies.

STEP1:  Buy a dehumidifier to keep the air clean and dry in your home. This will bring relief from pollen, mold, dust mites, and pet dander, too.

STEP2:  Do air-condition your house during the spring and summer months to, once again, keep the air clean and humidity low, which discourages dust, mold, and pollen from invading your home.

STEP3:  Give away your pets. I know it sounds cruel, but it's necessary for your wellbeing. Think about it, how can you provide the love and care your pet needs if being around them makes you unhealthy.

STEP 4:  Buy throw rugs to replace carpets that hold enormous amounts of dust, mold, and dander.

STEP 5:  Buy synthetic pillows and wash them in hot water once a week to get rid of dust mites.

STEP 6:  Wipe down surfaces in your bathroom and kitchen by mixing equal parts of Clorox bleach and water, as well as, 15 – 20 drops of Tea Tree or Eucalyptus essential oils to kill mold and mildew.

ADDITIONAL TIPS:  Read instructions before using chlorine bleach. Research all essential oils before use.
