Not all businesses can obtain the title of being the best and have to settle for being part of the rest of the industry that they are in and just like all the other businesses. But that does not mean that you have to give up and accept that you will never be one of the top best companies.

In all industries there are brand leaders, market leaders, industry leaders and the top corporate organizations.

These companies have become the best through hard work, investment and great business leadership.

Not all businesses can obtain this title of being the best and have to settle for being part of the rest of the industry that they are in and just like all other businesses that are part of the rest.

But that does not mean that you have to give up and accept that you will never be one of the top best companies.

If you can’t be the best, at least be the best of the rest.

This is a concept that works really well in all walks of life and especially in sport, which is intensely competitive.

Individuals and teams in sport know that there will be one person or team that will finish up as the best, but the rest don’t give up they all try to get the second best place.

And there is no reason why this same principle can’t be applied to your business endeavours as well.

If you, as the business leader, have your focus on achieving better for your business, then set a goal to become the next best company to the one that is best in your industry.

Then communicate that goal to all your employees, partners, suppliers and vendors and make it a major part of your advertising and marketing campaigns.

Express it to your customers, both in word of mouth and in the written messages and information that you provide to them.

Put it on all your letter headings, email signatures and business cards.

Make it clear to everyone that you and your business intend to become the best of the rest.

This will then inspire and motivate everybody to try harder to reach that goal and to do everything that they can to help you to get there and to share the success with you.

Even if you don’t make the position of the second best company, you would have increased your position overall and in the process your business would have achieved greater business success.
