These foods are excellent for diets because they provide the body with the nutrients it needs.

Apricots contain beta-carotene that assist in the prevention of free-radical damage and protect the eyes. The body also converts beta-carotene into vitamin A, which may help thwart certain malignancies.
Avocados
These fruits help decrease cholesterol and increase levels of HDL. One portion contains 81 calories, 0 grams of fat and one gram of fiber. This is a great healthy snack to have.
Tomatoes
Tomatoes are healthy because they contain lypocene which helps fight cancer. Eating tomato with a little olive oil is the best way to get the most nutrients out of it. It has 26 calories.

Broccoli
Broccoli contains indole-3 carbine which helps protect against breast cancer. It also has an abundance of beta-carotene and vitamin C. One cup has 25 calories, 0 fat and 3 grams of fiber.
Spinach
Spinach contains luteine and zeaxanthin that help fight against macular degeneration which is a major cause of blindness in older individuals. One cup has 7 calories, 0 fat and 1 gram of fiber.
Salmon
Salmon, tuna, and mackerel are the best places to get omega-3 fatty acids, which help lower the risk of heart illness. A 3-ounce portion has 127 calories, 4 grams o fat, and 0 grams of fiber. The healthy fat in this fish helps the brain work more efficiently.
Garlic
