Maybe you have done this before, You have felt interested in someone and thought about asking them out on a date, you've worked up the courage and thought about what you want to do.  They you make the call or ask them the next time you see them.  Whether or not they accepted your offer, immediatly after you start kicking yourself because you were so awkward, uninteresting, cocky or rude.

Try some of these ask-out-ideas designed to leave a good impression, afterall people like fun and interesting people right.  These ideas work best if you already have a good friendship with the person you are intending to ask out and if you do it in a fun friendly manner.  Asking people out in a tense, intimidating manner, especially people you are not well acquainted with tends to scare them, they make think you are weird.

  • Scan scan sweepstakes entry forms or advertisements and modify them so they do asking for you, seal it up and hand deliver the invitation.
  • Start a simple game of catch with a ball or paper airplane or something, after they are enjoying the game, write your invitation on the ball or plane and toss it back to them.  Be obvious about it so they get the message, just don't throw it to the wrong person.
  • Make some fortune cookies and include your invitation inside.
  • Have a conversation with them and talk about how you were thinking of asking them out, but then you just couldn't get up the courage, or you felt embarrased, be honest about it.  Use this as an opportunity to gauge their responsiveness.  If they like you, they may ask you on the spot, or at least tell you that you should ask.
  • Put the date request somewhere and go on a walk together, come across the message.
  • Call them up and ask them for their phone number, when they laugh explain that you were nervous because you were really trying to ask them out.
  • Put your invitation to music and sing it, if your song is good, they will be unsure if it was an invitation or not and you may have to ask specifically afterwards.

hehe.. i like your ideas.. pretty interesting… except the one about taking a walk and ‘accidentally’ finding the message. It might cause confusion to others or might be construed as vandalism.
