Stress is defined as a mental, emotional, or physical strain or tension. But what does that mean for the people that experience stress and what effect does it have on their lives. Stress is defined as a mental, emotional, or physical strain or tension.

But what does that mean for the people that experience stress and what effect does it have on their lives.

Stress is caused by having anxiety about the things that are happening in your life, the anxiety may be because of financial difficulties, about a relationship that has gone wrong, or many other things.

If you have done something that is wrong, the guilt will mean that you will find yourself carrying a burden that is too much for you, which will cause stress.

If you are having to put up with a lot of hassle from colleagues, family or friends, then this will create an emotional stress for you.

Stress can become apparent just by being in an environment of nervous tension, where the attitudes of other people create an atmosphere of uncertainty or insecurity for you.

Having a car accident, an operation at the hospital, or anything that results in you suffering a trauma, can cause stress.

There are many reasons why you may be finding life a bit of a strain, everything you do seems to go wrong, everyone seems to be against you and you feel as if nothing can be done to change it. Having to face the pressure caused by other people, their temperament, noise and general chaos can all leave you with a feeling of stress.

You may be feeling a sense of oppression, because of your health, the weather or your surroundings and again this will mean that your life is stressful.

When your life is so stressful you find yourself being constantly full of worry, misery, sorrow, suffering and troubles seem to pile up around you leaving you nowhere to turn to find relief.

Stress is around us all the time, but it is the way we respond to it that determines if we are to succeed or fail in life.

Dealing with, and responding to life’s adverse situations will cause you to have pressure and stress which will result in the possibility of you experiencing psychological problems.

And the pressures of life and the related stress can affect your blood pressure, cholesterol levels and could possibly mean that you will have a heart attack.

Stress can also weaken your body’s immune system, making you more susceptible to disease and illnesses.

The only way to deal with stress is to not let it influence and control your life.  By finding a distraction that is powerful enough you will be able to re-focus your activities so that stress becomes less and is finally eliminated from your daily life.

Being creative can be a strong distraction that significantly reduces the stress that you are experiencing, but unfortunately it only lasts for as long as the creative activity and when normal life activities return, so does the stress.

The only distraction that is powerful enough is love, whether that is the love for your partner, your children, spiritual love or love for yourself.

Once you have been distracted by this powerful emotion, it becomes your focus and it soon creates a peace and harmony within yourself that the world’s chaos cannot touch and that harmony is your weapon against stress.

With love filling your mind, stress can no longer control your life, you begin to be inspired and you want to make things happen in your life.  Once you are inspired the ideas start to flow and the positive adrenalin begins to create a motivation to transform your life.

The ability to effectively respond to and overcome stress, will not only reduce the effect it has on your physical and emotional health, it will enhance your performance, which will be seen in a greater focus, increased productivity and you will feel more creative.

Less time will be spent blaming yourself and getting depressed and there will be a noticeable increase in the speed of recovery from the challenges and setbacks that you experience.

You will have a feeling of being in control and will have a constructive approach to how you address the challenges that you encounter each day.  You now have more energy and a feeling of empowerment.

Love is a fundamental part of our being; we could not exist without it.  It is as primitive as our beginnings and is an integral part of our instincts.

Without love our world would be a very sad place, no positive direction or purpose and a feeling of emptiness.

Love gives us the hope to go on, under circumstances that can be almost unbearable.  Love puts us back in control of our lives.
