We all love our home, many of us also love to do som DIY in our household, for improve our house situation ,or ,just for fun. Here I show you some tips on our household improving, maybe some will helpful for you ,and if you are a DIYer,just try something .

1. How to fix a poltergeist door

Every house has one, a door that slowly drifts shut every time you try to leave it open.

THE QUICK FIX: Rather than resetting the hingesor propping it open with a potted plant, remove

one of the hingepins, lay it over a nail atop a hard surface, and strike it lightly with a hammer until

the hinge pin has a slight bend. Tap the pin back in place. The increased friction will keep the door

where you want it.

2. How to prevent pipes from bursting

While you are on vacation make sure you drain all the water from cold and hot water after closing the main. Then fill the U bends in toilets and sinks with polythylene glycol (not harmful) to prevent freezing and bursting. Save on your heating bill.

3. Clean your carpets yourself

If your carpets need a good cleaning, I highly recommend doing it yourself, as it is one of the most satisfying chores around. Either buy your own steam cleaner or rent one from a local store. It is extremely relaxing and you will feel so much better after knowing that you saved money - and, you're carpets will look fab!

4. Date all you filed documents

Each time you file away a document from your bank, insurance, or credit company, notice if there is a date on it. If not, write the date on the top before you file it. So often we get several updates from a company over the years. Then when we go to retrieve information, we can't figure out which one is the current document. Also helpful, toss the old document when you replace it with the new one (which we often don't do if we're in a hurry).
