Writing for revenue is something that most freelance writers are trying to accomplished. You have to know how to write an articles that can earn you more money and not just any articles. After all why would you write something that people wouldn't click on. I have wrote some article and found out that people are not interested in it. I have an article about postpartum depression and no one wants to read about it. I have only had one view on that article.

I guess people doesn't care about this topic. What you can do is to study your page views and then avoid writing on the topics that no one is clicking on and then write on the ones that people view the most. Generate more of that kind of articles so that you can get more page view. One is not enough to stand out from all these competitions. The entire web also wrote about Christmas gifts so you have to generate like ten of those in order to get some helpful traffic.

Next you can choose to write on hot topics only like seasonal topics such as holidays. You can write about Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year, and then Valentines day. After these holiday we won't be getting that much holiday at all until the next seasons. You can also write about hot topics like how to do things , reviews, and current state affair like votings. Just follow the top trends and don't write about non-popular articles. Do a little research on google to see what people read the most. Read on your site to see what are the popular articles and then follow that. You will also need to spend plenty of time promoting your own work. You will also need to give it a great , catchy title and then add great photos to catch the person scrolling down thousands of articles.
