Ben & Jerry’s Single Size Ice Cream

This is my take on Ben & Jerry’s Single Size Ice Cream

I only first tried Ben & Jerry's ice cream of any type a few years ago.  Because of its unique flavors and pricing, I don't really buy it that often.  However, I was very curious about a product that came out a couple of years ago, and that is theri Single Size Ice Cream.

These days, products come in many different sizes, trying to please the consumers' demand for convenience.  Having never seen ice cream that are not bars sold in such small cups was definitely new.  It surprised me a great deal.

Ben & Jerry’s Single Size Ice Cream does fill a need; however, there is a cost fact that has to be considered as well.  Each small container is 3.6 ounces and comes with a small spoon placed inside the lid for the eater to use.  That makes the product even more convenient since you don't even have to dig out a utensil to eat the ice cream with.  All we have to do is eat and enjoy.

As I mentioned, the economics factor is the negative trade off of this convenience.  A regular pint of ice cream averages roughly $3.00 each on sale and can be up to $4.50 at stores.  The small ounces in the single container typically costs between $1.00 and $1.25 when on sale.  You have to really want that convenience of size to purchase it.

To be honest, I love having the small cartons as they are an ideal size for a dessert treat.  It's just enough to really make you feel like you've enjoyed some ice cream and best of all, there's just no cleanup because you can eat it right out of the carton.  I hate cleanup, so that is a big plus for me personally.

Another plus is that it's easier to try out flavors you aren't sure you like.  It's psychologically easier to spend a lesser amount on an unsure product, especially when you don't have to worry about wasting a product.  It's just a really good trial size for those in doubt.

If you can afford it, Ben & Jerry’s Single Size Ice Cream is a good product size to buy.
