Second Life is an online virtual world where anything is almost possible. Some people join Second Life start their own business or careers in a virtual world but most, if not all, join it for entertainment and fun.

Now, one fun and entertaining thing to do in Second Life is fishing. Don't be surprised, even the world biggest mmorpg, World of Warcraft, has it too but in Second Life fishing is entirely just for fun and for socializing with other avatars.

Getting started is very easy, first you'll have to buy a 7Seas fishing rod and then go to the many 7Seas fishing areas that are all over the grid. Casting is done using a gesture or by typing in a command in the local chat channel. You'll know that you've caught a fish because the fish you caught will be delivered to you.

There are so many kinds of fishes for you to catch from the common Guppy to the superultrarare Frikin' Laser Shark. All of these fishes can be worn by your avatar as a pet or you can place them in an aquarium for display in your home or office.

You can also earn a few linden dollars from fishing. How? By joining the many fishing tournaments organized by the many fishing area owners all over Second Life. Fishing in Second Life is becoming really popular and many people are earning a Second Life living from it. Me? I fish for fun. I enjoy catching those really rare ones. I haven't caught all of them yet but I will, soon! :)
