For the second time over the past week the Space Station and its crew have been avoiding space junk from hitting the Space station.

They are playing the real version of Asteroids up there. The first alert came last week when The Johnson Space center realized there may be a chunk pf space junk coming towards the space station. So the crew was ordered to go into the Russian Soyuz and remain there until it was safe to come out.

Saturday night once again the crew was told of more space trash headed their way. This one they named Kosmo 1275. ( Naming space junk, crazy!) The Johnson Space center says it can take up to thirty hours to move the space station if it became necessary, so they must closely monitor these kinds of events all the time.

Seems it is like a freeway up there high above the earth with all of this space junk floating around and causing havoc with the space station. How all this space trash got there no one seems to know, but they all continue to keep an eye out for it as they float around.

So the astronauts put on their ray guns and destroy the objects headed towards them, no that is left to Nasa but it does seem to hold a great comparison to this once famous arcade game. Who knew back in 1979 that this all would take shape and that their game was not as far out as we all thought it was back then.
