The Google search engine is much more powerful than most people realize. There are ways to enhance the search engine optimization or SEO as they call it, if you know how it works. Here are 25 search tips - you may know some of them, but hopefully you'll find something here that can help you.

12 Businesses - Find businesses in any zip code – type pizza:22151 and you’ll get a map of all the pizza restaurants in that zip code. Substitute any business.

13.Time - See what time it is in cities around the world – type time baghdad or any city or town.

14.Temperature - Check the weather anywhere in the world, type weather Helsinki or any town or city.
15.Movies - Use Google to check movie showtimes in any zip code - type movies 20151 or your zip code.
16. Fostoria glasses Collectors - Find items in a selected price range – Fostoria $50..$100 (It’s a type of collectible glassware). Make sure you use the 2 periods between the prices.
17.Forms - If you are looking for special items like forms online, enter the type of item you need 1099:pdf. This gives you forms rather than explanation.
18.Music - If you are putting together song lists, type in “reminds me of BAND NAME” (insert your own band) and you’ll find other people who found music that sounded similar. Use quotation marks. You can substitute “sounds like…”.
19.Cooking - Similar to that, if you like to cook, try “tastes like…” or “better than FOOD TYPE”. I searched “better than empanadas” and got some interesting ideas from people.
20.Recipes - If you do like empanadas, type recipe empanadas and you’ll get lots of recipes. This cuts down on just searching “empanadas” and having to wade through extra stuff when you’re really just looking for recipes.
21.Empanadas (laylita.com) Images - If you’re not familiar with what empanadas are, type empanadas in the Google search box but click the IMAGES button above it and you’ll just get pictures. Same for anything you want pictures of, not webpages that talk about it.
22.Searches - Remove unwanted pages from Google searches – Use a minus sign in front of what you don't want included. Twilight review –movie (if you just want reviews of the book and not the movie).

23.Sex offenders - Find sex offenders – type in sexoffenders:Wisconsin or whatever state you want.

24.Vehicle information - Look up vehicle information – just type in the VIN number that is on the dashboard (look through the windshield).
25.Blogs - Conduct a search only within blogs by going to http://blogsearch.google.com/ and enter your search terms. (See resources below)
