We all know energy conservation is rapidly becoming an everyday household term. We are seeking out alternatives to help conserve, while at the same time teach our kids to behave in an altogether different manor from ourselves.

The first thing you may want to consider is tapping into renewable energy sources. These include wind, water, vegetation, solar, and geothermal. One of the easiest ways to conserve is right in your own back yard by creating your own solar panel. You can actually build a solar panel with parts found around your home. There are many How-To kits available and you can turn the project into a learning experience for the entire family. This will also set your kids up for the future way of living. What's really beneficial is the solar energy you generate can be used to power up just about every appliance in your home which will undoubtably save you hundreds upon hundreds of dollars. What's more conclusive is once you begin to generate more energy than you actually use, the utility company will pay you ! That's right, you can get paid for creating more. The next plus is as you start to conserve energy and rely on renewable sources, you will also be cutting down on the ever rising pollution problem. Did you know that the average household contributes a whopping 11,000 pounds of air pollution each year ? It isn't necessary for me to say that reducing this number would be very beneficial to the environment. Solar power can help save you money, decrease pollution,  help establish a better environment for your kids, and conserve the planet. Considering solar panels is a smart alternative to a growing problem while at the same time helps you put money back into your own pocket.
