Stress? Try these 10 proven and simple techniques to reduce stress

There is too much stress in our lives! However, do not panic, below are 10 practical ways you can apply to reduce stress:

No. 1
Learn to express your happiness. Laugh hard and loud. If you do not have a sense of humor, find somebody else who has. Laughter frees endorphins (happy chemicals) from the body, and it helps raise your immune system.

No. 2
Always plan what you want to do and plan it wisely. You’ll be much more able to deal with stress if you have a good manage on your job, relationships, and other activities. When you are in control, you are more inclined to stay focused and calm. Instead of remembering the entire plan in your head, you can always have a diary or a planner with you to write down what you have in mind.

No. 3
Involve in habitual exercise such as brisk walking, swimming or whatever charms to you. Play a sport or game you’re interested in. Aerobic exercises can well cut down the stress factor. Work out also improves sleep and helps you think and concentrate on other things. It also encourages the release of natural soothing chemicals in your body. However, excessive exercise may have a harmful effect and might cause more depression.

No. 4
Find a support group and spend some time with it. Did you know that married people and people who always spending time with positive friends, have considerably low levels of stress in their lives?  You will be able to handle stress much better if you have others helping and supporting you. Select positive friends who always give moral support to you. Invite a good friend (choose a good listener) to help you talk out a problem and get it off your chest. A long-distance call to an old buddy can be excellent therapy.

No. 5
Forgive others rather than holding grudges.
Don’t expect too much from anyone. We are all human, and human tend to make mistakes. Perfectionism is not the means to happiness. Learn to become more flexible and adaptable to your environment.

No. 6
Learn to relax, take breaths deeply and slowly whenever you are in stress. Chill out your muscles, escalating your stomach and chest. Take advantage of this yoga technique: Inhale slowly, counting to eight. Breathe out through your mouth, even more slowly, counting to sixteen. You can make a sighing sound as you exhale, and feel tension fade away. Repeat it 10 times.

No. 7
Eat healthy foods at the appropriate time. Do not skip any meals, particularly breakfast. Bring nutritious snacks to the office or wherever you go. A nutritionally balanced diet is necessary to your health and lifestyle. For instance, researchers have discovered that even minor deficiencies of thiamin, a B-complex vitamin, can stimulate anxiety symptoms. Pantothenic acid, another B-complex vitamin, is vital during times of stress. Stay away from caffeine, alcohol, and large amounts of sweets, as they can worsen symptoms of stress.

No. 8
Always think positive and live optimistically. Count your blessings, especially when everything seems to go wrong. Bear in mind that many others are living in worse conditions than you are. Every problem has a solution. You task is to find that solution. Learn to be happy and live one day at a time.

No. 9
Find some private time for yourself everyday. You deserve it. For example, turn off your mobile phone and enjoy a quiet evening alone or with your family, or even 15 continuous minutes in the shower or bathtub. You too can spend a few minutes jotting down your feelings out in a journal.

No. 10
Have sufficient sleep. Find out on how much sleep you require for best possible performance.  Having sufficient and quality sleep is vital to reduce stress. Lack of sleep worsens the body’s reactions to stress and brings down the immune system.
