How to Wash and Condition Your Hair Without Shampoo
Let me introduce you to a new way of washing and conditioning your hair!
1Grab some baking soda from your fridge or pantry. About two tablespoons is enough for medium length hair. Use more or less depending on your needs. Place the baking soda into a small cup or container. You don't want it too deep since you have to be able to dip your fingers in and get it out.
Step2 Fill another container with 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
and mix in 1/4-1/2 cup water (or you can just add water when in the shower). If you like, you can fill a larger container with half apple cider vinegar and half water and keep it in the shower for use when you need it. That way, you'll only need to retrieve your baking soda before shower time. Step3 When in the shower, mix just enough water with the baking soda to make it slightly more watery than a paste consistency. You won't need much. Rub it into your hair, concentrating mostly on the scalp area. Start at the front of your head and work back. It won't lather, but sure feels good on the scalp! Try to work it through the rest of your hair- it won't seem like enough, but a little goes a long way. Rinse out. Step4 Lastly, pour your apple cider vinegar/water mix over your whole head to condition and shine! Let it sit on your hair for a good 1-3 minutes. Sing a song while you're waiting! It WILL smell like vinegar, but don't worry, that will go away with a good rinse. Rinse well, and feel good about the lack of chemicals you put on your head to start your day!
