Historical Bath One
A description of how I viewed and appreciated baths History.
There are many historical sites worth visiting in the United Kingdom (UK), yet there is little doubt in my mind that Bath was the most interesting one of all. I had been keen to visit Bath since I'd read, and seen images of it on television which sparked my desire to travel and see it for myself. When I saw the Roman Bath Hoiuse I knew I'd made the right decision to visit it. It was so real thast it was easy to imagine people throught the ages bathing for any number of reasons. The remains were in tact to the extent that I was tempted to jump in and enjoy the water. The general surroundings of the baths were authentic as though time had permanently stopped in that house as it stood still.
While the baths were exciting, the rest of the building proved to be a great place to explore. There were any number of paths which tourists could chose to follow. It may seem impossible, yet there are so many things which people from all over the world can discover for themselves. I remembered thinking that Jane Austin's description of Bath was farily accurate, although I canhonestly say that even she didn't do it justice.
In conclusion I would highly recommend a visit to Bath, particularly for those people who like to explore and are interested in historical sites. The images shown on televison do not do Bath justice as it really is a place worth travelling to and I hope to return in the near future to appreciate what it has to offer again.

Caroline I had an amusing experience in Bath. I booked into Jane's hotel near the railway station for 7 pounds sterling a night which to me was a good price, being a penniless backpacker. One night I walked up the street to a restaurant where I ended up in the kitchen having a drink with the staff after closing. This really posh RP accented manager says, "Oh Australian eh, and where are you staying in Bath then?" To which I reply "Oh just down here at Jane's," and he said, "Oh I see and why at Jane's?" So I said, "Oh because it's cheapest place I found." To which he very eloquently replied, "Hmn yes quite, and I believe it's inexpensive too." heh heh cheers
