Paid surveys online: scam or not?

There are many scam offers circulating on the web these days. You can get scammed while shopping online, by signing up for an online IGP and don’t get paid, etc. Well, I just encountered a site that offers free registration and pays for every survey you take. Their offer is quite catchy, yet too good to be true! Why too good? Well, they say, you can earn up to $27 in less than 30 minutes. What do you have to do, you ask? Per survey, which is worth $4 to $6, you have to visit two websites and write a 3-sentence impression for each website. Sounds easy right? It's easy indeed. Also, there's one bonus survey every month, worth $1, which also serves as your entry to the site's $500 monthly draw. And if you can earn referrals by inviting your friends, you get $1.25 per referral. When you've earned $75 in your account, you can redeem it through Paypal, AlertPay, etc.

After registration, you could earn up to $27 if you take all the surveys. At first, my friends and I thought that if they offer about the same number of surveys every month, in 3-months time, we will be able to redeem our earnings. Until, someone who has registered a month earlier than us told me that, the site didn’t offer more surveys the following month, except for the bonus survey, worth $1. With this in mind, it would definitely take forever before we get to redeem the money. Another friend told me that it's a scam. Yet, a contact's friend claims to have received money from the site.
