Chocolate bar milkshakes offer a delicious twist on the original chocolate milkshake. Easy to make and great for kids, they make the perfect treat for any occassion.

Chcolate bar milkshakes are a great way to get creative with your drinks.  Some of my favourites are:

  • Kinder Bueno
  • Mars Bar
  • Bounty
  • Cadbury's Cream Egg

As far as I'm concerned, there's no real recipe to follow.  All you need is your chocolate of choice, some vanilla ice cream and a few cups of milk.  You'll find that the amount of each ingredient required will change depending on your main ingredient choice and personal preference.

Heres a rough guide though -

  1. Choose your chocolate bar.  Usually 1 whole bar will be enough but you may want to go for a king size if you're feeling particularly naughty!  Break up you chocolate and place it into a blender/smoothie maker/liquidiser.
  2. Add 3 large scoops of vanilla ice cream and 2 full cups of milk (I like to use semi-skimmed).
  3. Finally blend all this up and pour.  If you used a chocolate bar with wafer or biscuit such as Bueno or Twix you will notice not all will have liquidised.  This is completely normal and adds to the great texture!

For those of you who want to cram extra into your resulting milkshake, why not try sprinkling some schocolate powder of chocolate flakes on top.  Alternatively, you could make add a mound of marshmallows.

Don't let it stop there either.  This may be the guide to making chocolate bar milkshakes but bags of sweets work great too - Just try Skittles!
