A quick and easy way to turn plastic bottles into beautiful jewellery.

You can make beautiful earrings from recycled plastic bottles that you would otherwise throw away. These kinds of earrings are really quick and simple to make.

Step 1. Take a clean plastic bottle and cut it in half lengthways. You may want to cut it into wide strips to make it easier to handle.

Step 2. Using a permanent marker, draw whatever shape you want your earrings to be; You can draw round something to get a smoother, more even shape.

Step 3. Cut the shape out.

Step 4. Using a circle compass, a needle, or something sharp, pierce a small hole where you want to put the earring wire.

Step 5. Using acrylic paint, permanent markers or nail polish, colour the shape whatever colour you want. Finish with a clear sealant to seal in the colour.

Step 6. Attach an ear wire through the holes, using a jump ring if necessary.
