How to Get Motivated to Organize Spaces and how to do it!
organize, create more space in the house/office and get time to relax too!
Maybe you can choose a day or a weekend when your friends are out of town or busy with other projects, or a time when the weather is not as great!
Get Motivated
You know your house/office, is in need of getting organized. You know that you reach so easily things when you go directly to the location they are at or should be in.
Organizing your spaces can save you space, time and headaches.
Once you do it, you realize that was not such a difficult task to accomplish and it's a great feeling to know where things are at all times.
Start the day with some exercise to bring your energy level up.
You can do that before or after having breakfast!
Get comfortable clothes on so you can move around freely. Know which room you will start with, could be your home office or just your living room, kitchen; or do one room a week as your time allows you.
The Home Office
You should consider your home office as the brain of the house. You do all things from that particular space.
You pay your bills, keep track of all your paper work, do filing, shredding, recycling.
Having your office space organized help save you time when you need to find something quickly.
[removed] jQuery('.TextHead .Details .ArticleImage').each(function(i,e){ jQuery(e).find('img').one('error',function(){ jQuery(e).remove(); }); }); [removed]- schedule the time
- a filing caddy
- recycle bin,
- a bottle of windex
- and paper towel of shamwow.
Do your filing: that could be physical paper, placing it in the proper folders or bins (bills, invoices, follow ups)or it could be your e-mail.
Stay with the task, don't deviate to do other then placing those messages you save to the appropriate folders, or delete the rest of them; with the e-mails, it's very easy to get distracted, get into reading more and take time away from the initial project you started on that day.
Organize your desk, get ready for a smooth "next day in the office." Set your invoices/bills that need to be paid on your in box or Follow up box to get to them easily.
This will be a good time to also clean/dust or sanitize your desk, phone unit and computer. Dust all your desk organizer units as well.
- TRY to go GREEN in small steps with any project in your house! The office is the best place to start with since is most paper, newspaper or magazines.
- Place a recycle bin in your home office.
The House
It's always exciting to have a lot of space in your house to room around and relax and live in a healthy environment! An organized house will help you get around much easier with no obstacles your might bump in and get hurt. You will realize how much fun is to have the house organized, have a little cross ventilation done and then relax!
- set time to do it
- make organizing the house a monthly chore if not weekly
Organize your closets, set aside the empty hangers to have them handy for hanging the clothes when they are all clean.
Fold those t-shirts and place them on the shelves where you can see and reach them quickly.
Collect all shoes from the hallways and make sure nobody will stumble upon them and place them in the appropriate space as you knew where to get them from next time you need to use them.
Place all decorative pillows on the sofas where they belong, so they can give you the best comfort when is time to relax!
- You will be amazed how much more peaceful you feel once you have your home organized; breath some fresh air and read that book in peace!
