Finding Online Teaching Positions is difficult if you don't know where to look. This simple guide shows you what you need to teach online and where to find online teaching jobs.

Step1 Many websites will tell you that you need some kind of degree to start teaching online. This is not true. In most cases, the website is just trying to sell you some online teaching certificate or degree that is not really needed. Step2 The truth is that almost anyone can teach online. The fact is that it does does take some effort and interest on your part to be a good online teacher. Step3 One of the best paid online teaching jobs is teaching English online. It is also one of the easiest subjects to teach for most people if they are already a native English speaker. The pay varies, but if you can find a steady online English teaching job that pays $8 and up an hour, then it is a good start. You should start with a job that offers a consistent stream of students every week. That way, you can make teaching online a legitimate job. As you improve and gain more experience, you can begin earning more. Step4 To start out, it is recommended to start with a company that bring students to you. If you do try finding paying students on your own, you may find that it is the most difficult and time consuming part of teaching online. From my experience, it has been much better to let a company bring the students to you so you can earn a decent amount of money consistently rather than earn a larger pay here and there while you spend the majority of your time searching the web for students. Step5 You will also learn the ropes to teaching and find ways to improve your teaching style and reputation. Word will spread if you are a good teacher. Usually your student base will increase and so will your potential for pay increase. Step6 Some of the recommended things to teach online are Skype (It is free to sign up at http://www.skype.com). This is the software that you can use to talk with your students. You should also buy an inexpensive headset with microphone to start out with. This will ensure that you and your students have a clear English conversation lesson. You should also open up a free PayPal account at http://www.paypal.com. This is where you will receive your payments from your students online. Also highly recommended is an inexpensive webcam. Most students will prefer to see you during lessons, and it is really nice to see your student too. It makes a great online teaching tool. Step7 For teaching English online, most students are happy to simply have casual English conversation lessons. You basically get paid to talk with students and correct them when they make a mistake. You can add to your lessons by giving them some new vocabulary words or slang expressions to practice. Just have fun with the lesson and be creative. If you're having fun, most likely your student will be having fun.
