Why does my cat attack me? What to do?

My pet attacked me. The story about my reaction and mistake.

Once I was attacked by my cat so fiercely and violently, that my trousers were torn up and my legs were covered with wounds. I didn’t know what to think and what to do, so I called up a vet and he suggested me to take my cat to the animals’ quarantine service. I took this advice and it was the biggest mistake I’ve ever done for my cat.

Let’s tell the story over again. My cat has always been tender and friendly. I have rarely been taking her outside from home – that’s because she’s afraid of being in open air. But once I took her to the garden. She looked a little bit frightened. My friend’s dog curiously smelt her. One moment I thought everything is ok and another moment the dog and my cat were attacking each other. They haven’t been playing, they have been fighting. After that my cat has been attacking everyone who was around, including me. Somehow we have put her into the car and only after an hour the cat has calmed down and I could take my seat in the car. At home the cat attacked us once again. It’s not funny but she has looked like a little killing machine, she has never done that before. Our trousers were torn, we were bitten and torn up too. We couldn’t to get in to our flat!

Another day my cat was in the service of animals’ quarantine. Vet thought that my cat was mad. The term of quarantine was ten days at least, so I couldn’t take her home earlier. I felt really guilty during that period and I have been analyzing that has happened and why. I have consulted with another vets and looked up for the information in the web, but nobody has told me that the mad reaction of my cat was only because of the fear.

Don’t repeat my mistakes. If your pet doesn’t get into contact with wild animals, the reason of attacking you may be a fear and defense. You should be calm, try not to be afraid and calm down your pet without attacking him back. Your pet needs to feel that you’re not an enemy and you’re trying to protect him.

My cat feels safe now and is tender like always. I just avoid the stressful situations for her.
