The Case for Anti-Malware and Secure USB Drives
To neutralize the threat SanDisk Enterprise produces secure USB drives equipped with anti-malware which eliminates threats to data and their host operating systems.
The convenience and functionality of secure USB drives has dramatically increased their use in recent years beyond expectations. At the same time security issues have come to the forefront and the need to keep their data safe. Secure USB drives have made data more mobile then ever before and so this has made them an increased target for theft and corruption. Flash drives have also been used to infect host operating systems with viruses designed to corrupt data and programs. The case for anti-malware has been stated by the increase in attacks to systems and data. To neutralize the threat SanDisk Enterprise produces secure USB drives equipped with anti-malware which eliminates threats to data and their host operating systems.
Secure USB Drives and Data Corruption
Employing secure USB drives in the course of doing business today requires they have strong security on the front and back lines to avert data corruption. Companies that need mobile data are going to have to have anti-malware software in place for security reasons. Secure USB drives feature software that can detect and quarantine any threat to data or operating systems. The first line of defense is to maintain a strong password authentication process allowing data to be stored safely and securely. Secure USB drives manufactured by SanDisk Enterprise use an 8-letter combination which is one of the strongest developed to date.
Using secure USB drives is necessary to prevent attacks not only on the data stored in the drive but on the host operating systems also. Attempts to access and corrupt data are neutralized by software developed my MacAfee and is called anti-malware. Anti-malware software featured in secure USB drives can make detect and make viruses ineffective by quarantining them and rendering useless. Anti-malware software scans for viruses and worms that might be used to corrupt flash drives or operating systems. Secure USB drives employing anti-malware are armed and stops these attacks before the opportunity to infect the main operating system is possible.
Central Control of Secure USB Drives
Secure USB drives that are managed through a central control program are in a much better position to protect sensitive data should flash drives become lost or stolen. Drives can be monitored or terminated from a central control server if they become subject of a threat or attack. When the US Military was alerted to their vulnerability they put a ban on the use of all flash drives they were not utilizing a central control management system. They had no recourse except physical control of the flash drives. Secure USB drives with central control software are able to manage all drives from a central server. The combination of file encryption and central control makes secure USB drives the safest available today.
Secure USB drives are able to neutralize the risk associated with theft, loss and misuse of confidential data through the central control system. Files are also encrypted when downloaded, uploaded and transmitted. When drives are used where the data is not encrypted it is extremely vulnerable and can be accessed by unauthorized users. An AES algorithm encryption used with secure USB drives prevents data from being from being exploited by those unauthorized to access it. The US Military recently switched to secure USB drives and a central control system when the threat to data was revealed. They turned to SanDisk Enterprise which uses the AES 256-bit encryption and central control software to satisfy their security specifications.
