A boilermaker variant, the Irish Car Bomb is a tasty beverage that, consumed quickly and with friends, promotes bonding, laughter, and the promise of a great night out made even better.

Step 1

FILL GUINNESS TO ABOUT HALFWAY UP A PINT GLASS

This instruction is simple enough, and if you enjoy Guinness, you must try an Irish Car Bomb. The combination of the Guinness+Baileys+Jameson's leaves a hint of chocolate flavor that is quite nice. You are meant to take this drink in one swig, so filling your pint all the way may leave an undesired amount left over.

Step 2

ADD ONE HALF SHOT OF BAILEYS TO THE GUINNESS

Baileys is also great in coffee. After adding the Baileys prepare yourself for the tasty delight.

Step 3

FILL ONE SHOT GLASS FULL OF JAMESON'S IRISH WHISKEY

Another straightforward instruction. After you have your shot of Jameson's in one hand and the mixture of Guinness+Baileys in the other, hold the Jameson's shot just above the glass with your fingertips. Prepare to drop the shot glass into your pint.

Step 4

POUND THE CAR BOMB AND ENJOY!

Drop the shot of whiskey into the Guinness and take the drink all the way. Open your throat and don't waste one drop! Slam your pint glass on top of the bar and high five your friends. Nice work! Can you taste that hint of chocolate? Maybe the best part of pounding a car bomb. Enjoy and be safe!

Tips & Warnings

Accept no substitutes (for Guiness/Baileys/Jamesons) - you will sell yourself short and probably have sub-optimal car bomb. Stick to the originals.

Pounding one car bomb and witnessing the joy it brings your boys might induce you to pound another. Be smart and most importantly, be safe!

Adding the Bailey's before the shot glass can have negative effects, such as the cream curdling. In my experience, the main need to take it all at once is because otherwise the cream in the Bailey's curdles, and adding it first is negative. I have always seen and found it best to put 1/2 shot Bailey's and 1/2 shot Jameson in the same shot glass (or get the full shot of Jameson by using a doubleshot glass).
