One of the most astounding waterfalls in Central America is La Fortuna Waterfall. The name means "the fortune". It is located in the province of Alajuela, Costa Rica. Catarata Fortuna, its name in Spanish, is 75 meters in height. The waterfall lies at the base of Chato Volcano, a dormant volcano near the Arenal Volcano in the town of La Fortuna.
Another beautiful waterfalls located in Costa Rica is La Paz Waterfall. The name means “the peace”. It is known as Catarata de La Paz in Spanish. Additional attraction near the waterfall is La Paz Waterfall Gardens. There is also a hotel and a park where visitors can observe many different species of local wildlife.
Mexico is bordered by the US on the north, by the Pacific Ocean on the south and west, by Guatemala, Belize and Caribbean Sea and by the Gulf of Mexico on the east.

The captivating Basaseachic Falls that flows continuously all-year round is located on the Basaseachic River in Chihuahua, Mexico. This waterfall with a height of 246 meters is the second-highest in the country and is part of the the Parque Nacional Basaseachic at Cañon Basaseachic in the Copper Canyon region. Pine woods and rock formations are additional attractions near the falls.
Another astonishing waterfall in Mexico is Cola de Caballo. The name means "Horse Tail"..this waterfall is located in the town of Villa de Santiago, Nuevo Leon. This beautiful waterfall, which is open to the public, can be reached through a pathway.

The Cataratas de Agua Azul or "Blue-Water Falls" are beautiful waterfalls located in Chiapas, Mexico. This waterfall is consists of many cataracts with the larger cataracts measuring 6 meters or 20 feet in height. It was named Blue Water Falls because the water is as blue as it looks in the pictures and has a high mineral content.
