When you go to Toy Story Mania at Disney's California Adventure Park, you have got to make Woody Proud. He and all his pals from Toy Story invite you in to play this carnival game to see how well you do. While it is loads of fun and you want to go back again and again for research purposes (like I did) you can score BIG points on your first time through. Even Woody will be proud. Here's how!

Pop on those glasses and pull your shooting device toward you as you get on the ride. Make sure the device isn't too close to you or it will be uncomfortable.

When you first get into your Toy Story Mania Mover, get familiar with the shooting device. you will notice that you pull the string out to get the shooting started. But as you shoot it is also VERY important to push the string back in so it resets quickly. If you don't you will lose shots on the screen. The first part of the ride is about practice. You get roughly a minute to practice and you need to be a Toy Story Mania Ace.

Pull the string in and out as fast as you can to see how it feel and how many you can shoot off in mere seconds. Now you need to remember that the actual shooting devices (I want to say guns, but they really aren't) are set on the Toy Story Mania, a little low. Meaning, you need to shoot a bit higher than you think to make the most of the points.

Visually you are probably looking at it right, but since the device is a little lower than eye level you need to make an adjustment. As you are playing, don't tire yourself out as the very end is where you make the most points. Do shoot at the targets in Toy Story Mania to the best of your ability, but when you get to the Western scenes with the old west town, be ready.

You will start by simple shooting as done before in the ride. However, at the very end you swap over to the mining shaft and have to pull the string and hit the target as fast as possible to get thousands of points in a row. If you hit the logs quick enough, you can get 500, 1000, 2000 and 5000 points a hit. This is where most folks get the majority of their points.

Unless you are a dead ringer, don't expect your accuracy to be 100%. In fact, you will find most of those who go on the ride average about 30% accuracy and still get plenty of points. Tell Woody hello for me when you play on the Toy Story Mania ride and be sure to have fun!
