Marine Iguana (Amblyrhynchus cristatus)

This weird-looking reptile is called Marine Iguana, an iguana found only on the Galapagos Islands. What makes this

reptile unique? Well, aside from its creepy look, it has the ability, unique among lizard, to live and forage in the sea.

Broad Snouted Caiman (Caiman latirostris)

This is a Broad-snouted Caiman native to South America. Its distinct physical characteristic is its broad snout hence

the name. Most tend to be of an olive-green color, with exceptions occurring as adaptations to varying climate. Why will

you choose if for a pet? This species is threatened due to illegal hunting and loss of habitat and you might be of help

in protecting this creepy-looking creature.

Rhinoceros Iguana (Cyclura cornuta)

Another threatened species is the Rhinoceros Iguana, primarily found on the Caribbean island of Hispaniola. They

vary in length from 2 to 4 1/2 feet and skin colors range from a steely gray to a dark green and even brown.

Desert Horned Viper (Cerastes cerastes)

This reptile is unique not only because it's a venomous viper but weird because it is one of the very few species of

snakes that have a pair of supra-ocular horns. They are found in the deserts of Northern Africa and parts of the Middle

East.

Coast Horned Lizard (Phrynosoma coronatum)

What makes this reptile weird aside from its physical appearance? Of the 14 species of Horny Toad, the Coast Horned

Lizard is one of the four species that can shoot high pressure steams of blood out of its eyes if threatened for defense.

This species is found in Baja California. The coast horned lizard appears rough and spiky but is actually smooth-skinned,

although it has sharp spikes along its sides, back and head.

Frill-necked Lizard (Chlamydosaurus kingii)

One of the most celebrated reptiles in the world is the Frill-necked Lizard, or Frilled Lizard also known as the Frilled

Dragon. It is so called because of the large ruff of skin which usually lays folded back against its head and neck. The

neck frill is supported by long spines of cartilage, and when the lizard is frightened, it gapes its mouth showing a bright

pink or yellow lining, and the frill flares out, displaying bright orange and red scales.

Just the name of this reptile is enough to consider it bizarre. The Thorny Devil, endemic to Australia, is also known

as the Thorny Dragon, Thorny Lizard. It can live up to 20 years. Its colors changes due to climate it becomes pale when

it is warm and become darker when it's cold. Another weird trait of this reptile is its "false head" located on the back of

its neck.

Well, this animal is one of the freakiest-looking creatures. Phrynocephalus mystaceus is endemic to Iran, Afghanistan

and Kazakhstan. This species of amid lizard could reach up to 24 centimeters in length.

Southern Flying Lizard (Draco dussumieri)

This creature can not actually fly although they appear to be. The Southern Flying Lizard is capable of gliding from

tree to tree and can be found in India.

This reptile is unusual because it has the ability to glide. Flying Dragons are member of the genus of gliding lizards

Draco that can spread out folds of skin attached to its movable ribs to form ""wings" that it uses to glide from tree to

tree over distances upwards of 8 meters (25 feet). It can be also regarded as a colorful reptile because its wings are

brightly colored with orange, red and blue spots and stripes, and they provide camouflage when folded.

Common Basilisk (Basiliscus basiliscus)

This peculiar animal commonly called Common basilisk is a lizard endemic to Central and South American rainforest

near rivers and streams. It is also known as the Jesus lizard or lagarto de Jesus Cristo for its ability to run on the surface

of water.

Fan Throated Lizard (Sitana ponticeriana)

This reptile, Fan-throated Lizard that can be found in Nepal, India and Sri Lanka and Pakistan is unique not only for the

fan on its throat. When disturbed this lizard sometimes runs with a bipedal gait.
