Voters in California have made it clear that they were not happy with the government telling them that it was okay for same sex couples to be married… something that obviously is not marriage in any form.

Marriage is between one man and one woman. On November 4th, voters in California have made sure that’s the way it should be and is. They showed the government that it’s the people, not the government, who have the say in what is and isn’t legal (and morally right) in California.

With the passage of the gay marriage ban in by California voters, that leaves up in the air the fate of about 18,000 “couples” who “married”, both California residents and out of staters, during the brief time that California had said that it was legal for gays to be able to marry in the state. Some are saying these people will still be legally married since it was legal during the time they went through a marriage ceremony. Others are saying that all of these marriages will be desolved since the gay marriage ruling was overturned and gay marriage is once again now banned.

Regardless of what happens to those who went through a marriage ceremony, the fact remains that voters have let their voice be heard. The greater majority still believe in the sanctity of marriage, that marriage is indeed between one woman and one man, and that anything else simply cannot be called marriage.

Of course, with this passing of the gay marriage ban, there will be those that will say people should be able to love and marriage anyone they please, providing the person is of legal age to do so. Loving someone doesn’t mean that one perverts that love into something God never intended. Loving someone so deeply and so strongly means you care for someone very much, and that’s a wonderful feeling. But it doesn’t mean you sleep with everyone you love that deeply. Learning to seperate the feelings of deep love and wanting to turn it into something it shouldn’t be is the first step to learning what real love is. And real love isn’t sleeping with the same sex or trying to take marriage and make it into something perverted.

Marriage is something that anyone of legal age can enjoy…. with a member of the opposite gender. Marriage is between one woman and one man. California voters voted to ban gay marriage. They have spoken… so be it.
