I'm Getting Married... to my Horse: Marriage is no Longer Just Between a Man and a Woman

I'm so thankful that people have finally realized that marriage was never meant to be only between a man and a woman. Why? Because I am in love with my horse and we want to get married.

I'm so thankful that people have finally realized that marriage was never meant to be only between a man and a woman. Why?  Because I am in love with my horse and we want to get married.

My horse, Fred, is not only my best buddy and friend, but he is soon to be my husband.  We are getting married next month.  We're planning a honeymoon at the Kentucky Derby.  It will be a working honeymoon for Fred.

In the old days, people assumed marriage was between a man and a woman.  The very idea that people could not marry whatever or whoever they wanted to is insane. When someone loves something or someone, they should be allowed to marry that something or someone and spend their life with the thing or person they love.  The old notion that marriage is just between one man and one woman is outdated.

Just this week, I was reading where two women want to get married and where two men are in love and want to marry each other.  All that love stuff made me realize just how much I love my horse and how I want to spend my life with my horse.  So I walked to the stable and I proposed to my horse.  My horse, being the wonderful horse that he is, immediately accepted my marriage proposal.  I can't wait for the wedding!

Sure, there was a time when such ideas were considered not only wrong, but just plain sick.  Once upon a time, the idea of of any union other than the traditional man and woman union was kept quiet and hidden, and certainly not something to be proud of.  Boys and girls once grew up with a Mom and a Dad, in a strange thing called a Family.

Lucky for us, today is different.  Today, finding a traditional family is not the norm, but rather the exception.  We don't have to worry about hiding the fact that we want to marry our horse.  We don't have to worry about what people will think.  We are proud to shout it out... I am in love with my horse and we are getting married!  We can even have human/horse parades to show off our marriage.  And if anyone dares to talk down to the fact that I am marrying my horse, well goodness I can just say how offended I am and how closed minded you are, sue for discrimination.  I can tell you how wrong it is that you can love and marry whoever or whatever you want to, so I can too.

Yes, marriage has come a long way, baby!  You're invited to the wedding, by the way.  Please note that the wedding reception will also double as a baby shower and bring extra gifts.

I love sarcasm mixed with facts to make a point. It adds a great touch of humor to a serious point of view.
