Easy directions to clean silver jewelry and silverware naturally.

There is no need to use expensive and dangerous chemicals to clean your silver jewelry or silverware. With only a few items out of your kitchen pantry, you can easily, naturally, and frugally clean and shine your silverware and jewelry without scrubbing or fear of scratches. Not only can you clean your silver items, but you will also feel good knowing that the ingredients are both safe to be used around your family and safe for the environment. With this easy process you will be able to save your time, energy, and money.

Household Ingredients Needed:

  • Aluminum Foil
  • Table Salt
  • Water

Cleaning Directions:

  • Select a baking dish or bowl the size of the piece(s) of silver you are cleaning. If a large quantity of silverware or large object is to be cleaned, you can use your kitchen sink.
  • Line the container or your sink with aluminum foil (with the shiny side up).
  • Add warm to hot water to your container so that it will cover the piece(s) of silver.
  • Sprinkle a liberal amount of table salt on the foil (about 2-3 tablespoons per cup of water).
  • Add your silver piece(s) to the container so they are touching the aluminum foil and are covered with water. Let set for 15 minutes.
  • Enjoy using your silver jewelry or silverware pieces!

Tip:

If your silver pieces are heavily tarnished, you may need to clean them multiple times. You will want to change the water and salt with each cleaning.
