Will going Green Kill the Economy?

There are a lot of people who put their heads in the sand about Global warming, they deny human involvement. There are those who warn that going green will cost too much and put too many people out of work, is this true?

1.  Yes, going green will put some people out of work, in some sectors that refuse to start moving into other technology.  As people need less oil for example, the oil industry will decline in jobs.  This means there will be fewer jobs in the oil industry, but does not mean those people cannot find jobs some place else.  Thus removing one type of job, does not mean there are no more jobs left in the world.

2.  Many companies are seeing changes and switching into the new technology, opening new job opportunities that never before exisited.

3.  There will be huge demand for workers in Green Industries,  It is already a growing field and will continue to boom as demands increase.

4.  As people gain greener power systems, they will ultimately be saving money.  Thus the need to work is decreased, allowing for more family time while maintaining the same standard of living.  Example: If you are saving money by producing your own power through a solar panel on the roof, it might mean you save $300 - $400 a month, thus allowing you to select to reduce your work hours while maintianing the same lifestyle.

5.  Over all the economy will not suffer one bit. There will be a shift in what money is spent on, but an equal amount of money will continue to be spent.  Some people theorize that a Green economy will be stronger because it is sustainable, more jobs will be created, thus putting more people to work.

So, Why the Denial ?

1.  Companies are reluctant to change, they are making big money now doing what they do.  It is easier to continue doing what you do, than to move forward.  Thus it is easier to deny the threat of Global warming than to admit to it, and force a change.

2.  Companies are making a fortune now, doing what they are doing. They want to keep making money, so they want people to keep consuming what ever it is they are making or producing.  If they admit this is contributing to Global Warming, then they fear a loss in consumption, thus a lower profit for them.

Even if Global Warming is NOT Real

1.  Even if it is not real, or caused by humans, switching to Greener technologies will improve our day to day lives, by reducing chemicals in the air, pollutants in the seas, and by saving us money.   Planting a tree in your back yard cannot have any negative impact, other than a bit more raking in the fall, but if you pick a fruit tree, it will also provide you with fruit.
