What can be more annoying than booting up your laptop only to find that the screen is covered with fingerprints and dirt? No matter how many times you tell your kids to keep their fingers off the screen, they seem to forget. As a result, you're stuck with a dirty laptop screen.

There is a quick and easy solution to dirty laptop screens. The solution is so easy and inexpensive that you'll no longer have to scold kids and adults alike when they touch your precious laptop screen.

Here's What You'll Need

Isopropyl alcohol
Distilled water
Small container (not a spray bottle)
2 cloths (soft cloths and not tissues)

Here's How to Clean the Laptop Screen

Mixed one part distilled water to one part alcohol. Since the cleaning solution is so easy to make, you don't need to make gallons of it. Make enough for about a week's worth of cleaning. It's easier to store a small container near your laptop than it is to store a gallon of laptop cleaner.

Take one of the soft cloths and wipe away all of the excess dirt and debris from the laptop screen. No matter how much you clean your laptop, there always seems to be a layer of dust, so make sure it's removed.

Dip the cloth into the cleaning solution and wring out the excess liquid. You don't want to saturate the cloth before wiping the laptop screen. Wringing it out prevents the solution from trickling down the screen into the very important components of your laptop. Protecting the components of the laptop is the exact reason why it's not wise to use a spray bottle. Spray bottles are less exact in application.

Gently wipe the laptop screen with the damp cloth. Be sure to wipe the entire screen without applying pressure. Let the solution do the work, not your strength. You don't want to damage your LCD screen.

Wipe the excess solution from the screen with the other dry, clean soft cloth. Don't use tissues. Many of the tissue used today have oils and lotions imbedded in the tissue. It will only serve to dirty your screen again. Even if the tissues you use don't contain oils and lotions, tissues leave dust part icicles. The very same particles that you're trying to remove from your laptop screen.

Once the laptop screen is wiped dry, it's ready to go. Now you can enjoy your clean laptop screen.
