1. Keep your stomach full: Yes, never go to bed with empty stomach. It is not that you need to eat your dinner right before going to bed. Doing that can actually make you gain weight. Just have a healthy snack like fate free yogurt and Jello. But it is recommended that you avoid milk, for it might not let you sleep better.
2. Wash your face and body: Remove all the dirt that you have accumulated all over your body from the day's work. Make your skin feel good. By doing this, you will not only free your mind from stress, but also will feel fresh before bed.
3. Eliminate tight clothings: Do not go to bed with elastic tightly binded around your hips. In other words, do not wear boxers or pajamas that are too tight for you. Meanwhile, make sure that you are not wearing something that has collar. Otherwise, it is possible for you to dream getting strangled or trapped in a bad situation.
4. Avoid television shows and books on intense and brutal moments: Before bed, by watching a brutal show or reading a depressing story you can actually put yourself more at risk of having nightmares. Why? Because usually, during bedtime the brain is in relaxed position. So it gets a better ability to take in just about anything. If you really want a happy brain avoid such shows and books.
5. Put yourself in mood to sleep by having good thoughts: You can do this by either listening to music or thinking about your sweet moments. Bottom-line is that you need to free your mind from all stressful things.
6. Keep a night lamp turned on in your room: Sometimes darkness in the room can create fear in your heart which ultimately can cause you to have nightmares. So keep a night lamp near your bed. It does not really spend much energy.
7. Use a comfortable pillow: Pillows do expire. If you happen to come across this problem get yourself a new comfortable one. Actually your head resting position can also lead to having bad dreams.
