Guide to Western Town Cowboy Party Games and Activities

A friend of mine had a Western Town cowboy birthday party for her eight year old son at her local church. It was held in the fellowship hall and the parking lot of the church because it was such a big event. All the kids and adults enjoyed the Western Town cowboy party games and activities that she had lined up for this big event. That was several years ago. What is a good western town without a jail? One really fun activity for the Western Town cowboy birthday party is to have kids make their picture in jail. She had one corner of the fellowship hall decorated as a jail cell. Kids got to sit on the cot. A member of the church took Polaroid pictures of the kids sitting on the cot.  The pictures were dated and her son's name put on each one. It was a great souvenir from the Western town cowboy birthday party.

Petting Zoo Section of the Western Town Cowboy Birthday Party

Another big hit at the Western town cowboy birthday party was the petting zoo. She had hired a local company that provided a small section outside the church building for a miniature petting zoo. The kids got to pet and feed the animals.  After all, what cowboy can resist being an animal lover? The petting zoo was a big favorite of the kids for the Western town cowboy birthday party.

Local Trading Post at the Western Town Cowboy Birthday Party

Each child was given a brown lunch bag with a handful of western items in it. In the building there was a wall section that had been converted to a trading post. Kids could exchange items in their bags for goodies and prizes that were at the local trading post. After all cowboys were notorious for their trading abilities!

Panning for Gold Cowboy Style Birthday Party Game

Another great hit at the Western town cowboy birthday party was panning for gold just like they did out west. The kids loved this part. Each child got a bag of chocolate gold coins for their prize in participating in the panning for gold cowboy style birthday party game.

Rope a Catcus Instead of a Bronco in the Western Town Cowboy Birthday Party

Cowboys are famous for their ability to rope. My friend had a large blow-up cactus in the center of the birthday Western town. Kids could toss hoola-hoops to rope the cactus. I think the adults really liked this game as well. Each birthday guest got a western hat and sheriff badge for making several tries at roping the cactus.
