Penn vs Fitch Fight on Ufc 127 - Video Preview

Dec 31st, 2010 by tsl99

Former lightweight champ B.J. Penn will fight welterweight title contender Jon Fitch in UFC 127 which will be held in Australia. B.J. Penn just came off an impressive win against Matt Hughes, knocking the former champ just seconds in the first round. Jon Fitch's last outing was a win in his usual grind it out style unanimous decision against Thiago Alves.

BJ Penn lost twice against current lightweight champ, Frankie Edgar, is seeking exciting matchup against heavier yet slower fighters in the welterweight division. On a recent interview Fitch said ""Other than my fight with GSP for the title, this is my biggest fight so far. I just need an impressive performance, more of myself grinding out beat downs and being more aggressive for the finish and just putting a lot of pressure on BJ. As you could see from the first fight, I gave [GSP] a better fight than anybody else. I have vast improvement in my stand up game, my Jiu-Jitsu game is off the charts right now, and I'm just a better fighter all around, and the second time that we match up I'll beat him."

Fitch will be looking to take Penn down and grind it out for three rounds while Penn might be looking to outsrike Fitch or submit him with his stellar Jiu-Jitsu. Either way, this will be an intriguing match-up that may provide the two fighters some juice with regards to being the next to challenge the champ, Georges St. Pierre.
