I describe what I considered to be the highlights of Eastern Europe.

As I reminise on my travels around Europe I reflect upon my exerience in Eastern Europe. There were so many highlights that I don't really know where to begin. I suppose the logical thing to do is start at the beginning. The first country I went to was Hungary which turned out to be less mysterious that I thought as I saw what it and its people had to offer. During the journey I learnt some of the country's history. Particular emphasis was placed on what the country was like before it came under communist rule, as well as the aftermath of communism. A highlight was to visit all the old buildings and seeing what each one contained inside. I found this to be exciting as it made me more aware of the uniqueness of the land, the culture, and its people.

Another highlight as I discussed in an earlier article was Romania, and how it had not lost its uniqueness. 'The People's Palace' was definately a sight to behold as its very oppulence was overwhelming. Its grandure was beyond even my vivid imagination and it is definately an experience never to be forgotten.

Bulgaria was the last Eastern European country I travelled to and it also provided highlights which are well worth mentioning here. What really interested me was not the usual buildings, although they were a highlight in their own right, it was seeing the way people lived and the technology they used in the past. Seeing the way people lived, and to some extent still do, gave me an insight into their lives and mine. i consider this to be one of the greatest memories and highlights of my journey aounr Eastern Europe as I believe i became a better, more understanding person, than I was before I visited those countries, and that in my mind, is was the most important memory of all.
