How to Create Gift Lists
When I needed to figure out what I needed to ask for, I decided to devise a gift list.
The best thing to do is write down a list of item you need or want. Gift certificates and favorite restaurants are a great thing to make the list- and is a bit more personal than cash. Just keep the list in the back of your mind so when someone asks what you want, you can easily refer to it. Next go to your favorite websites and create a wish list. Perhaps you need to create a Wedding or Baby Registry- you can do so at Target or Kohls online versus having to go into the store. You can add whatever you want to those lists and refer people onto that list. It's good to see what the websites recommend as another great buy based off of things you add to your list. I ended up emailing my list to others or referring them onto the websites so they could look everything up themselves.
The best thing is you are sure to get the gifts that you want- or at least some of the gifts you want vs. random things that people buy for you that you have no need for. After many years of getting the most eccentric gifts from some gift givers, I decided that I needed to email them ideas. Of course there are still people out there who will buy what they want to buy for you- so figure out a way to regift or return those gifts and hope they'll check out your gift lists in the future!
